What seems to work the best? The ones that are mounted on the skis or the ones that are mounted on the rails
Never an issue with mine on the skis.

Mine are ski mounted, and they work great!
Mine are great on the skis.
I vote for Tunnel mounted. Like stock Yamaha and Cat Mtn Winders and Vipers. If your shocks are good the tunnel is going up and down much less than the skid. They go on front upper Crosshaft or Big lug that the front arm is mounted to tunnel with. Work awesome and very convenient to deploy and stash.
