I got it at Napa, blue and white bottle, under $10.00. It is called Aluminum Brightener.

I did not spray on cowl stickers, the stickers on the side had no issues, when I was done, I washed it with water right after. We also did 2 more sleds, 2 Skidoos, and hit some more stickers, washed it off with no issues.

On my sled I did not cover anything on mine, no problems, I did this last year, and this year, no color changes, deterioration.

I ask as my sled is all tore down and I am looking for a way to clean it all up and then decide if i want to go thru the work of polishing

no polishing with this, spray on, ruff spots clean with brush, the wipe off and wash off, that it is,,,spectacular results.

This stuff works Spectacular, you just spray it on, I did it over the stickers with no issues, wait about 30 seconds, it foams up, if there is a spot that is stubborn you scrub it with a brush from the dollar store, wipe it off, then hose it off and that is it.
Super easy, fast, and I am not a person that likes to scrub or polish. I also did my truck rims with it, took off all brake dust, grease, wow, I am hooked, 2 years using it now. Good luck, post before and after pics.

Most aluminum cleaning products are simply phosphoric acid. You can buy phosphoric acid at most hardware stores. Kinda nasty stuff if you breathe it in though ... Make sure you wear a mask when working with it.
