Hard reverse shifter fix.

Just had a look at the linkage from the reverse handle to the chain case - the bottom of the linkage hits off of the foot well plate. When I pushed the plate back to give a bit more clearance the shift was much easier.

good find, yes that happens for sure, mostly from kicking the running boards from the bottom to get the ice off the boards. i had to bend my foot boards on both the mtx's i have to get clearance too.

also lube the slide mechanism with grease on the top and bottom and work the slide till it moves freely. there is a plastic bushing near the handle that needs grease on the shaft regularly to make it work smoothly. ski
 
Yeah my XTX is easy also....

You will hit the plate back to the place where it is in contact with the linkage. Drill a hole in the plate where the contact is and the problem is solved for life.
