Hey everyone I'm in the middle of doin a dimming chain swap to a heavy duty chain What s the best way to remove the oil pump chain to get the timing chain off
According to the published service manual, you have to remove oil pan to get at the bolts that hold the oil pump chain guides. Cannot get chain off without removing the guides. Ouch!
21. Remove the two cap screws securing the oil pump
chain guide. Remove the cap screw securing the oil
pump driven gear (A) to the oil pump using the
sprocket holding tool (B); then remove the oil pump
chain and timing chain from the crankshaft.
