Looks like it is in fact stretched but just enough to make it ratchet. Not enough yet that it would have liked up. Guess I got lucky. New chain and top sprocket to order. Totally wore out the bushing in the sprocket. Going to check bearings make sure they're ok.
My viper has the mpi 190 kit on it. I bought it with 420 miles 2 seasons ago and before I ever rode it I swapped the track. As I was putting everything back together I checked the chain tension and it seemed fine. I had a Yamaha tech come take a look just to make sure I put everything back...

We'l then I think my riding buddies are going to have to suck it up! Back to loud and proud.
Disclaimer: I live and ride where there are no sound laws on sleds and there are very few complaints. Our trails are mostly quite far away from any towns and still far away from rural farmhouse...
I have to ask - would this issue have anything to do with the style of muffler you have? I have the MPI 190 kit and when I bought the sled it had the Aero "mountain" can installed. I used this all last year and just 2 rides ago changed over to the quieter trail can due to complaints from the...
I thought the error was coming from the air sensor on the plenum but it was the sensor on the intake tube from the air filter. Wasn't plugged in far enough. I thoigh for sure it was the boost controller as it was the only thing I changed.
I installed the MPI EABC on my Viper with the MPI turbo kit. Followed the instructions properly and now when I turn the key before starting there is a chatter under the hood and I get a P0113 error code. I tried turning the key off and on a few times but not change. I eventually decided to...
The above link is for play while turning but definately open up the steering boot as per the instructions in the link to check for vertical play anywhere. It might help to have someone duplicate the problem while you look inside.
I did some searching on here but it seems like everyone has the additional pressure chamber whereas I didn't. I set the float to 130 psi where I've read it' supposed to be for the stock setup and the rear end sags so bad the flap almost touches the ground. I was finished working on it for the...
Sounds like gearing is the way to go too. Might as well get it done I suppose. I do have the aero muffler on it. Sled came with both bit had the loud one installed. I live in Manitoba where we don't have any decibel restrictions, or at least they're never enforced.
Thanks for all the replies everyone. I think with the turbo set up it'll just take some familiarization with GEMS. The EABC apparently limits you to 4.5 lbs boost. A friend who has the same kit said his will surge to 7 psi for a second or two then the EABC limits it to 4.5 and he can run wide...
So I buy this sled last season thinking it's going to be the best thing I ever bought. '15 XTX LE with MPI 190 kit. First thing I find out is the turbo was a mountain kit, not a trail kit so no EABC and a very basic analog boost gauge. Come to find out the 190 turbo is capable of making more...
The XTX handles great and is surprising off trail. My only issue is I'm a big guy and the rear suspension kind of sucks. It's my first truly uncoupled rear suspension and for the way I ride it leaves me disappointed. The problem is the front skid shock is quite stiff and rebounds hard on...
There are magnets in the rubber cap on the driveshaft and if they come out you can get a bad reading. Look at it this way... your sled is now showing less mileage than it actually has... ;)!
