any one know where that bolt and nut go on the sled?

Did you take a close look at the bolt threads to see if they were even used?
Could have been dropped during assembly line operations, darn I found a spare gas cap wedge in between the tank and tunnel right side up against the exhaust heat shield..... Now have a spare cap..... :-o

Likely kit, was not there last year when I did my maintenance. Sled have over 10000km
 
I second the comment about the pyramidal frame. Check all those joints. They flex alot and am surprised each year how many need to be snugged up.
