Thats all I had in the barn when I put it back together. Any reason why I should drain it and fill it with gear lube? I used ATF in my dirtbike chaincases for years and had less (actualy none) gear/clutch problems than most others who used the recommended viscosity engine oil in their bikes/quads.
After I finished my 128 conversion I lowered it off the hoist and all of sudden there it was. My left ski sits slightly back from the right ski (visually) and the gap between my GYTR springs between the top a-arms is different from side to side. Also.... my spindles are not both the same in...
Lowered it approx 1" and added cables to keep it from standing straight out after ice packs behind it.
The guys said its like riding behind a :die
Also used round 1/2" closed cell foam in between the chassis and the flap to prevent the dust from covering tail light and then lowered the...
Just had to cut down 3/16" off the extro tips to safely clear the rail tips, otherwise its a done deal!!
Thanks to my friend Chris, Tom Hartman and some of you on here for the tips and heads up as I was planning it out.....
Anyone do any revalving or oil thickness changes yet?
Since Im still debating if I can run these 10 tooth extros Im wondering if I should take advantage of the time and (warm weather) and do a little shock tweaking.
My initial thought was to just have them both dumped and recharged with...
I already have grooves in the lower sheaves from that titanium 8DN belt and Mr. Tom Hartman not only recommended the Ultimax 3 belt that is softer, but said to INSIST that Yamaha replace my sheaves with only 800 miles and 4 nice grooves cut in already. Any thoughts about this?
BTW, Tom...
With the 128 x 5 x 1" Hack Im leaning towards 153 with the 51 double/51 single all in the center belt concept.
Should I do 170 for durability sakes?
Are Rotein Hornets really that damn good considering the outrages price
Anyone read about the Rotein "Master Mix" with Skorpion and Hornets...
99-101 on a long, hard packed road for miles is ALL mine will pull at 9 grand on the dreamometer. Im unstudded too but wonder if raising the straps to holes an increasing the ski pressure has cost me a couple mph?? I knew I would loose road races but not a Poo IQ 600 and getting destroyed by a...
Tomorrow Im putting in my 128 x 15 x 1 with ALL windows open track. Should I do the drivers while Im in there already? With 800 miles and several adjustments the ratcheting has greatly reduced and not to mention the high tension of the track hasnt really affected my sliders as they both still...
Any bets on this?
I started off to just bevel the hard right angle edge off the keel top edges, then I went and did my own version of "snow induction", then I just couldnt stop so I added grooves on the bottom of each side to reduce tracking.
I'll laugh my azz off if ths actually works...
Has anyone experimented with lowering the #*$&@ end a notch with the rear arm limiter strap? I dont like giving up travel but im no snow crosser anyhow.
The ski's are centered with 2 bushings, why couldnt you stagger the ski on the spindle to widen the stance another 1-2"? Other than for...
**Put 3/8 brass spacers (Bergrstom copies) under the ski spindle to tip the front of the stock Yami skis up
**Pulled the limiter strap up 1 hole
**Loosened the front ski spring pre-load.. Could only back them off a few turns before the springs were actually loose when fully extended...
I have the RU Outside Sonic splitweight bibs and coat I got at the end of last year. I also wear RU Outside ec2 4 way fleece insulated top and bottom and the ec2 long johns (top and bottom) that I absolutely love. This set up works great for warmer weather and also aggressive/powder...
What exactly is the objective of every third window closed? I use to think it was to hold snow in and improve slider lube/life, etc.
Just reading a Camoplast of Canada add it is basicaly for economy and makes the tracks cheaper to manufacture.
I havnt noticed any improvements in slider...
Had this left over from the SLP cold air kit for my buddy's Fusion and put it to good use. Not the best location for inducting cold air but it opens up the area a bit since there doesnt seem to be much of a flow through the clutches under the clutch cover on these.....
Took it out around the yard this morning after the 2" of snow we got last night and after getting it warm I hit it coming up from the basement walk out and it ratcheted horribly. I made a few more laps around the yard and whenever I got into it hard it would jump. Took it back into the barn and...
Basically FOX floats compared to GYTR fronts and the rear has a resovoir/dual clicker on the front arm---right?
I have noticed the front shock springs on my std are wound to the max and it feels like it when you push on the front bumper----the rear feels real soft from pushing on the rear...
